Corporate Sailing Events in the Hamptons
Looking for a corporate event that gets your team off the screen and onto the water?
At Sag Harbor Sailing, a corporate sailing event in the Hamptons puts your group on classic keelboats in the calm bays off Sag Harbor. A family-run, ASA-accredited sailing school runs every outing, with captains licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard aboard.
We have sailed these waters since 1997. Fortune 500 companies already count on us to plan and run team-building sailing regattas. It is an active, hands-on day, not a passive cruise.
Most corporate boat outings in the Hamptons are large crewed yachts running catered cruises. Guests sit on a big deck while the crew does the work. We offer the opposite. On our boats, your team is part of the action.
They crew small keelboats, pick up the basics fast, and work together to make the boat go. That shared effort is what makes it real team-building. People remember the day they sailed, not the day they sat on a party boat.
Every corporate day is built around your team.
Want a friendly competition? Crews can take separate boats and race each other, then compare notes back at the dock. Prefer something easier? Sail together as a guided group and take in the bay. Either way, the work of sailing the boat, calling the trim, reading the wind, rounding a mark, is what pulls a team together. We will shape the format, the pace, and the length around what you want the day to do.
Your event sails on our fleet of 23-foot Pearson Ensigns.
Designed by Carl Alberg and built since 1962, the Ensign is one of the most popular one-design keelboats in America. It is stable, forgiving, and easy to learn how to sail, so first-timers feel at ease within minutes.
Because each boat seats up to six, a larger group sails across several boats. That keeps the teams small and everyone close to the action, instead of being a crowd on one deck.
Every outing is run by U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains, with ASA-accredited instruction on hand. Your team is in experienced hands, whether they have sailed for years or never set foot on a boat.
Route
Corporate events sail the calm, protected bays around Sag Harbor, on the East End. The gentle water and steady wind make it an easy setting for any skill level. Your team sails with Shelter Island, the North Haven shoreline, and the historic Sag Harbor waterfront in view.
You might pass Cedar Point Lighthouse in Northwest Harbor or the wooded edge of Mashomack Preserve on Shelter Island.
Because the bays are sheltered, there is no open-ocean swell to manage. It is a real change of pace from a conference room, and a memorable backdrop for a team day.
Inclusions
Every event comes with the boats, U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captains, and life jackets and safety gear. From there, we build the day around your group.
We sail out of the Yacht Hampton Boating Center at 51 Pine Neck Avenue in Sag Harbor, an easy place for a team to gather before and after the sail.
Tell us your goals, your timing, and any extras you would like, and we will put together a plan that fits.
Pricing
Corporate events are quoted to fit the group, so the cost depends on your size, format, and timing. Tell us the date and how many people you expect, and we will send a plan and a quote. Summer dates book up early, so reach out ahead.
To start, call or text (631) 725-5100 or email captain@sagharborsailing.com, and we will take it from there.
Frequently Asked Questions

How large a group can you accommodate?

How long is a corporate event?
We build the length around your group, from a short outing to a half or full day. Tell us your schedule and we will plan the day around it.

Policies
Deposits
Full payment is due at booking. Dates/times can be changed when you notify us in writing of your request >90 days before sailing date. If booking in January, February or March we allow 50% deposit these months. Kindly text any request at time of booking.
Weather & Cancellations
We have a no-rain and small craft advisory policy so we do not set sail if it is currently raining or rain is imminent in the forecast. We also obviously care about your safety, so we will not set sail in inclement weather and during any small craft advisory. We will generally make those decisions 2-hours before sailing time. If our captain decides not to set sail that day, due to rain or if a small craft advisory is in effect, you will have the option to receive a rain date for a period of 28 months. This allows you 3 summer seasons to reschedule. We will apply your payment and you will receive that credit to sail again within the next 28 months.
Once a client books a boat we notify all subsequent inquiries that “the boat is taken and unavailable”. For this reason we do not offer any refund on cancellations. If you cancel a reservation up to 90 days before your sail date, we do allow a no-cost change of date. Inclement weather as stated above is the sole reason for any cancellation.
